Winnie’s Missing (Pt 1)

“Hi, can you state your name for record please?” The investigator asked me.

“Are we recording yet? I need to understand everything that is going on.” I stated closing the hospital blanket around me.

The police escorted me from my hospital bed the military police station about an hour ago. One of the officers stopped the recording.

“My apologies. I thought someone had already explained this to you, so I was just trying to get this over with so that you can get you some rest after everything that has recently happened to you.” The investigator said to me while he was sitting down.

“Thank you. I appreciate it. I just want to know in case I need a lawyer.” I stated sincerely.

“Oh, no ma’am. You didn’t do anything wrong and you’re not in trouble. Your uncle James is here as well on the other side of the glass just to make sure everything is going smooth for you.” He stated. “We are here to get a recording of the event that has taken place three days ago when you were kidnapped from a club. Due to your position in the military and your level of access as well as the members that took part in your kidnapping, we are just having this on record for your safety and for the court proceeding that will take place in the near future.” He stated.

“Okay…” I stated hoarsely. “I’m ready.”

The investigator nodded to the police officer that was standing behind him in the corner, and they began to record.

“Okay, can you state your name for record please?” The investigator asked again.

“Whitney Doran.”

“Date of birth?”

“November 15, 1996.”

“Okay, Miss Whitney Doran, can you please explain what happened the night of the 5th of June in detail leading up until you woke up when the police recovered your body. I understand that things may be difficult to talk about so at any time when you need a break, please just let me know. Take as much time as you need.” The investigator said to me.

I looked at the camera for a brief second before looking down at my hands.

“Throughout this entire thing, I haven’t shown much emotion about anything…or at least I do my best not to.” I stated weakly.

I began to pick at my fingers holding back tears.

I threw a popcorn at Aminah as she jumps on top of me laughing.

“So are we going out tonight or not?” She asked me as she sat back on the couch laughing.

“I don’t know.” I said in attempt to catch my breath.

“You know I don’t like clubs.” I stated as I repositioned myself on the couch placing my legs across her lap.

“Come on babe, you never go anywhere. And Jay wants you to come to. He called me.” She stated.

I rolled my eyes at her and looked at the movie that we were supposed to be watching. Aminah stood up and grabbed one of my hands to pull me off the couch.

“Come on, we’re going to take shots and you’re going to get ready.” She said to me.

“UGH!!” I said loudly.

I stood up and followed her to the kitchen and watched her poured two shots. I took the shot and danced around while it burned going down my throat.

“Come on. We’re taking another one.” She said laughing at me.

“Oh my goodness Aminah. You doing too much!” I said stumping on the ground.

She laughed at me as she put the shot in front of me.

“Hold on.” She stated as she ran out of the kitchen.

All of a sudden I hear fast paced music blaring loudly on the speakers in the living room as she came back into the kitchen. She came up to me smiling and dancing with her tongue out pulling me into her.

“Come on. You know you want to dance with me.” She said laughing.

Aminah knows damn well I cannot dance.

“Let’s just take this damn shot. I need to be drunk for this shit.” I said turning to the counter where the liquor was.

I took the shot and stuck my tongue out while it burned going down my throat. Aminah grabbed my hand and started dancing with me trying to change my mood.

“Imma take a shower really quick and start getting ready.” I stated as I began to walk off.

“Come here girl.” She said to me as she yanked me back.

Aminah grabbed my face and put her nose on mine.

“You gone fix yo damn attitude and get your ass out this house. You hear me?” She said to me.

“Yes ma’am.” I said laughing.

She kissed my lips. I smile and walk away while she slapped my ass. I walk into the bathroom and get ready to get in the shower.

“AMINAH!” I yelled from the bathroom.

She walks into the bathroom.

“Can you bring me a drink please?” I begged her.

She laughed. “Yes baby.” She said back to me.

I zoned out feeling the music. When she brought me my drink, I kissed her and took a couple sips. I placed the glass on the shower niche and continued jamming.

After about 30 minutes, I cut the shower off and wrapped my towel around my body. I grabbed the almost empty glass and walked into my bedroom. Aminah was in the mirror singing along to the music coming from the speakers. I put the glass on the dresser and dried most of the dripping water on my body before folding the towel and placing it on the towel rack.

“Can I touch on you real quick?” Aminah asked me while rubbing her hands over my ass.

“No ma’am.” I said laughing.

“But, you can make me another drink mama.”

I sat down at my makeup desk while Aminah walked away to fetch my drink. When she came back, I was naked singing along to the music and applying a simple face of makeup.

“Do you know what you’re wearing tonight?” She asked me.

“Just a mini dress and some thigh boots. Something simple.” I stated as I finished up my makeup.

I finished getting dressed and walked into the living room. Someone knocked on the door twice and Aminah walked over to answer the door. Jay walked in loud as hell and dapped Aminah up. He came over and hugged me and wrapped his arm around my neck dragging me to the kitchen.

“You already know what time it is!” He yelled.

Aminah already had three shot glasses out pouring drinks.

“SHOTS!” he yelled as we toasted.

“You look good sis.” He said to me.

“Thanks bro.” I said to him as I sat down putting my shoes on.

“Yall about ready to go?” He asked us.

Aminah fixed more shots. I stood up and downed mine.

“I’m ready.” I said.

At this point, the liquor begins to kick in. I’m in a chill vibe and extremely relaxed. We all took another shot and headed down to the cars. Jay had some female in his car; Aminah and I rode in my car. I followed behind Jay to the club. Jay and his girl of the night got out of their car. Aminah and I walked up to them and we all walked to the entrance of the club.

Aminah and Jay are well known and popular throughout the area. Jay has been my best friend for years and everyone knows me and Aminah are together. Everyone knows how chill we all are and that at the end of the day, we are all about fun. All the beef and petty shit stays out of our way. If there is any, it always goes through Jay.

The bouncer opened the rope and allowed us to cut the line. The bouncer on the other side of the door escorted us to our VIP section. Jay and Aminah was laughing and dapping the bouncer up. When he walked away, as if immediately, our bottles was automatically brought to our section by one of the servers. Of course, that was downed immediately. Surprisingly, I’m still not drunk. I just feel good.

“Babe, I want to go order some wings.” I told Aminah.

Aminah put her glass down on the table and said something to Jay before grabbing my hand and leading me out of VIP.

“I could’ve went by myself.” I laughed.

“Now you know better.” She stated to me.

We make it to the bar and I placed my order. Aminah was standing behind me with her hands around my waist. While I’m waiting on my food to get done, some random guy comes and sits beside where I’m standing. Aminah usually doesn’t care when guys approach me. She knows I’m more than capable of handling myself. She was deep in conversation with someone in the opposite direction.

The guy grabs my wrist and attempts to pull me into him. I quickly yanked my hand back.

“That is not how you get someone’s attention in a good way.” I stated firmly.

“Oh mama, you’re coming with me.” He said seriously.

“Uh, I think not.” I said to him laughing.

“You’re saying that like you have an option.”

His face was serious. I scanned his body language and realized I could see a bulk in his shirt near his waist line.

I turned towards Aminah and took my phone out my boot and quickly shared my location with her and sent her my uncle’s number. The guy went to grab my wrist again, and I yanked it away while placing my phone back in my boot.

“Excuse me, can you chill please.” I stated firmly. “I really don’t like people touching me.”

At this point, a group of guys were towering behind him. It was safe for me to assume all of them were carrying.

“You either can come with me willingly or you can be carried out unconscious Winnie. Your decision.” He stated flatly.

I grabbed Aminah’s hand and she turned to me.

“Don’t react, but I have to go. I shared my location with you and sent you my uncles’ number. Go get Jay and tell him I had to leave. My keys are at the table.” I said to Aminah quickly.

Before she had a chance to ask me anything, I stood up and grabbed my wings and walked into the group of guys that were crowded in front of me. They escorted me out the back of the club and into an all-black BMW. The guy that approached me got into the driver’s seat and started the car. I ate my wings and kept my nerves calm. I’ve been trained for situations like this, but being in it was so surreal to me. Especially because I had no idea how this man knew my nickname or what his motives are.

When he began to drive, I quickly realized we were in a convoy of other cars. There were black cars in front of us and behind us—all-black BMWs with tinted windows. I was riding in silence for about 45 minutes before the car came to a halt at an older looking house. It seemed like it was a trap house. The guy got out of the car. I quickly took my phone from my boot and texted Aminah that I was going to call her but I needed her to mute her phone. I looked around me to make sure no one was looking into the car. I could hear the guys laughing and talking. I quickly called Aminah and placed my phone back into my boot. Two minutes went by before someone finally allowed me to get out of the car. I was escorted into the house and sat on an old couch. It was a trap house.

“You thirsty shorty?” One of the guys asked me.

“Nah, I’m good.” I stated blankly.

The guys all sat and started playing a game on a Playstation 4. It looked like Madden. The guy that I rode with was nowhere to be found. I sat there in silence for over an hour. Eventually, the guy walked into the house.

“Winnie!” He said happily raising his hands in the air like he was inviting me to come hug him.

I looked at him confused.

“You missed me girl?” He asked me while he came and sat beside me on the couch.

“Um…am I supposed to?” I asked him.

“So, I guess you don’t remember me.” He stated disappointedly.

I looked him in the face and tried to find familiar features. He was light skin with curly hair and a patchy beard and mustache. He looked like he gained a little weight, but I haven’t seen him in years.

“Mike. What do you want?” I asked him.

I relaxed a bit because this guy was someone I’ve known for years. I thought he was in jail. I haven’t kept track of him so I never knew he got out.

“I missed you.” He stated seriously.

“Okay? You didn’t have to do all of that.” I said referring to the scene he made at the club.

“Man listen. Who was that female you was talking to?” He asked me.

“I don’t know, some female I met tonight.” I lied.

I was hoping on the inside that Mike wasn’t aware of Aminah and Jay. I don’t know when he got out or how he found me, so hopefully he wasn’t aware of the people who run shit.

“Last I remember, you hate going out. So you…” he said to me.

“I don’t. I came out with one of my homeboys.” I stated.

“Yall fucking?” He asked me seriously.

I looked him in the eyes before responding.

“You know this is kidnapping right?” I asked him.

“Not really…you left willingly.” He said shrugging and grabbing a blunt from one of his friends.

“You threatened me.” I said factually. “When did you get out? And how did you find me?” I asked him.

“It’s been about a month now, and I had someone look into you when I found out I was getting out.” He said blowing the smoke into the air.

“Okay, so what do you want?” I asked him again.

“You owe me.” He stated.

I raised an eyebrow at him.

“I got a way I can come into some good money. But, I need some information from you.” He said to me while hitting the blunt again.

“What kind of information?” I asked him.

“You’re still in the military aren’t you?” He asked me.

He held the blunt in his mouth while grabbing a game controller. I didn’t answer him and he continued.

“There’s this new weapon yall got that some people are interested in. I jus need you to tell me where it is and what exactly it does.” He stated while focusing on the game.

“What makes you think I know what you’re talking about?” I asked him.

He made a point in the game and hit the blunt before looking at me.

“Come on Winnie.” He stated while smoke was coming out of his nose.

“I have my ways of getting it out of you.” He said to me while resuming the game.

“As soon as he said that two of his friends walked in the room with something in one of their hands. The one holding something walked in front of me and the other one held me down from behind the couch.

“It aint nothing but mushrooms.” He said to me while the guy forced it into my mouth and held my mouth closed rubbing my throat to make me swallow.

“I hope you don’t trip to bad.” He laughed as he kept his eyes on the game.

“Why would you do that?” I asked him trying to catch my breath.

“Oh that’s just the beginning. I got more for you.” He said to me.

I paused.  I asked him if I could go to the bathroom.

“Oh nah.” He laughed and glanced at me. “You gone try and make yourself throw up. I’m not stupid.”
I held back the tears that were starting to form. I didn’t know what to do. I’ve never done any type of drug. Mike was laughing and talking with his friends but over time I couldn’t hear him anymore. I wasn’t even in the same room. I was watching different colors all around me. I felt my anxiety starting. I tried to reason with myself that I wasn’t real. The weird things I was seeing wasn’t real. In reality, Mike and his friends were laughing at me. He kept asking me about some weapon. I had no idea what he was talking about and was more focused on the blood I was seeing come from under the couch. I squeezed my eyes closed hoping to see nothing but darkness.

“It’s not real, it’s not real, Winnie it’s not real.” I kept repeating to myself.

Even with my eyes closed, I was seeing colors mixing into each other. I felt someone grab my right arm and something pinched me. I was too weak to fight it off.

“I need water.” I said as I continued to hallucinate.

My eyes felt glued shut. They became so heavy. It was like I was fighting the battle of a lifetime just in attempt to get them open again. When I finally got them open, I tried to grab the glass from whoever was standing in front of me. I couldn’t control my body anymore.

“I don’t know if I ever drank the water or not…” I trailed off.

“Do you know how long you were there?” The investigator asked me.

I just shook my head no while playing with my fingers. The investigator sat there for a couple seconds before he said anything.

“Okay, we’re going to take a break.”

The camera was shut off for the time being.

“Winnie, whenever you’re ready to continue just let me know.” The investigator said to me. He walked out of the room and my uncle James came in.

Hello Readers, My name is Heather. My birthday is in November making me a Scorpio. I am currently serving active duty in the army. I love animals, I love cooking, and I love to write. I fall in love easily, and even if it doesn’t work out I always leave an impact on the person I fell in love for. I see the good in everyone which can be a good and bad thing. I have decided to create this blog to share my thoughts with the world. This blog is named ChaoticMinds because that describes me perfectly. My mind is always all over the place. I am a very emotional being and I express the way I feel through writing. This blog is going to be very personal. I am forcing myself out of my comfort zone, and sharing my ChaoticMind with you guys so that anyone who can relate can see that they are not alone. I would like to mention, that although this blog is going to be personal, please realize that it is writing. Some things will not be real. When I say personal, I love to mix my reality with my mind. The blogs that you will read will have my reality mixed with thoughts that I feel sound good in writing. My thoughts are always all over the place, my sentence structure will not be correct, my grammar will be all wrong, I may use too many commas or have run on sentences. The way my mind works is the way I write. (Although, I do a lot better when I have professional writing that needs to be done.) Most of the blogs that I will post will be relateable. My goal is to allow others that have experienced similar situations in life to realize that there is someone out in this world that understands them. If you plan on allowing children on my blog, please monitor what they read. A lot of things will be sexual and dark. Being that I am a Scorpio, those are two of my main qualities. Feel free to contact me with topics that you would love for me to discuss. I will love for this blog to be interactive. You can ask me any questions that you like, and I promise in return to be as honest as possible. I have recently added a new page about my natural hair and have plans on adding my weight loss journey. This is going to wrapped around a lot of things. Please enjoy and SHARE SHARE SHARE! -Heather
